Hello,
I am new at tracing my family, and am having a hard time tracing their emigration from Ireland around 1840. I have one source that shows them in Emily twp, Lindsay Ontario, and then in Mower Co. MN. Any ideas on the best way to find them in Ireland, I have no idea what region they came from. Their name is Michael and Mary (Haloran) Boland. Michael was born abt 1782 and Mary abt 1810. Their children born in Ireland were James, Mary, Bridget, Martin and Margaret. Three were born in upper Canada, Ann, Michael (my ggrandfather) and Thomas. They were devout catholics, and farmers. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
steph
