Hello everybody My name is ROBERT FILES. I will do lookups for anyone who is looking for info from ONONDAGA COUNTY including the city of SYRACUSE. This where I live. I have acess to the public library, the county court house, just about all the cemeteries in onondaga county. I also do volunteer work at OHA - ONONDAGA HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION. Here is what i do.
I will check for deaths notices, military records-manily REV WAR RECORDS CIVIAL WAR RECORDS AND SOME WORLD WAR I & II RECORDS. Marriage records from about 1890 up to 1930 in the county court house only. The rest are in COUNTY OFFICE VITAL RECORDS DEPT. And I can not get to these as i would have to be related to the person inorder to get a copy of marriage, death or birth records. But i can mail you a copy of the forum they use in the vital records dept or you can go on line to ONGOV.NET, this will take you into office of vital statistics for Onondaga County. Remember this- if your ancestor was born, married or died in onondaga county, then this is where you want to sent for his or hers certificates, DO NOT SENT TO ALBANY, NEW YORK.
I also do Cemeteries look ups. If you want a picture taken of the stones, let me know. I do not have a digital camera as yet, only a polaroid camera. I do court records also.
I only charge for copies, photo pictures, transportation { only if i go long distance} and postage, that is it.
my e mail is here on this site so you can email me at anytime. I will reply back as soon as possible.
Looking forward in helping in anyway i can.
THANK YOU
ROBERT M FILES

Hi Robert.. my family on both sides (Malcolm, Suits, Peckham,Weston; Hills, Finneghan, Fisher,Kingsland) all lived, born or died in and around Syracuse, NY. I have been traveling, searching the New York State al of my life and in the past seven years I have been working on the family genealogy. I find some facts..lose notes..make more notes && become frustrated. I have dates of births (abt) & Deaths but getting copies (ONLY) of such becomes a quandry and looks very, very costly. Any suggestions (I may have 'stumbled' on some people you might like to add to your collections of contacts.)?? Many thanks..Eloise Malcolm Gilmore
